ABOUT US

OUR STAFF

Johnston Child Care Center was established in 1996. We are a fully licensed child care center by D.C.Y.F. Our services include full time and part time infant, toddler and pre-school care. In addition, we offer before and after school program and a summer program (6 – 12 years old).

Our facility is located at 87 Putnam Pike (Route 44) in Johnston, RI. We are conveniently located 1.5 miles from Rt. 295 and 0.5 miles from Mineral Spring Avenue in North Providence. We have a 5,000 square foot state of the art facility, with an additional 5,000 square foot outdoor playground. Our hours of operation are Monday – Friday 7:00 am to 5:30 pm.

All of our teachers and staff our fully certified in C.P.R. and First Aid. Our teachers and staff are trained with professional development and workshop specialists. Our dedicated teachers and staff are committed to providing the very best care for your children each and every day.


Vanessa Palladino

Owner/Director
Hi! My name is Miss Vanessa, and I am the owner/director at Johnston Child Care Center. I purchased the daycare in August 2019. I have been passionate about working and caring for children for most of my life. I have over 20 years’ experience working with children. I received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Rhode Island College and master’s degree in early childhood education from American International College. I am CPR and first aid certified, as well as years of professional development. I have a husband, Nicky, and two beautiful daughters, Ella and Liliana. We enjoy spending time as a family, as well as with our friends. I also enjoy spending quality time with my friends, shopping, and getting to know new people. 


MISS JANE

Toddler 1 Teacher
Hi! My name is Miss Jane. I am the lead teacher in our Toddler 1 classroom. I have my CDA in Early Childhood Education and am CPR/First Aid Certified. I have been working with children for 30 years and have worked at Johnston Child Care for 8. I enjoy watching each child progress and grow in different ways. When I'm not with my students, I love spending time at the beach with my family. 

MISS ALYSSA

Assistant Director/ Ed Coordinator  
Hi! My name is Alyssa and I am the the Assistant Director at Johnston Child Care. I have been a member of our team since 2019. I have a Bachelors Degree in Youth Development and a certificate in Non Profit Studies from Rhode Island College. I have been working with children since I was a sophomore in high school where I completed the child development program at Cranston High School West. I am CPR/first aid certified, OSHA certified, RIELDS certified, and have my Paraprofessional certification as well. I love working with children and watching them grow and develop over the years. I come to work everyday and love what I do, and that is the most important part in working in childcare. A fun fact about myself is that I love to travel, and anything Disney!

MISS KIM

Toddler 1 Assistant
Hello, my name is Miss Kim. I am the teacher assistant in our Toddler 1 classroom. I have been working at Johnston Child Care for 6 years. I am CPR/ First Aid Certified, and have spent many years working with children. My favorite thing to do in my spare time is to go for motorcycle rides with my husband.

MISS MELANI

Teacher Assistant
Hello! My name is Melani Berreondo and I am the teacher assistant in the Transitional classroom. I have been working at Johnston Child Care since 2022. I am a CPR and First Aid Certified. I currently attending CCRI for my Associates degree in Nursing. In my free time, I enjoy reading and I love roller skating.  

MISS ASHLEE

Toddler 2 Teacher
Hello, my name is Ashlee and I am the lead Toddler II teacher! I have been working at Johnston Childcare since Spring of 2021. I have my bachelors degree in psychology from Rhode Island College. I am currently in the masters program at URI for psychology.  I am doing this so I can work with and help kids who may require extra support. A fun fact about me is that I am a huge sports fan!

MISS ERIKA

3 Year Old Teacher
Hi! My name is Erika and I am the lead teacher in the 3 year old classroom. I have been teaching at Johnston Child Care since 2022. I worked with young children all through highschool and decided to start my career path in early education. A fun fact about me is I love dogs and everything Disney related!  

MISS RACHEL

Transitional Teacher
Hi, I'm Miss Rachel. I am the lead teacher in our Transitional Classroom. I have been working at Johnston Childcare for 5 years. I have over 8 years of experience working with children. I am CPR/First Aid Certified and have my Early Childhood Education certificate. A fun fact about myself is that I love listening to music and dancing.

MISS DEBBIE

Teacher Assistant 
My name is Miss Debbie and I am a teacher assistant in the Transitional Classroom. I am CPR and First Aid Certified, and have worked at Johnston Child Care for 19 years. I look forward to working with your children each day. They make my days enjoyable and interesting! I love to travel and explore new places, and going shopping with my friends and family.

MISS PAIGE

Assistant
Hi, my name is Paige! I have been working at Johnston Child Care for almost a year. I love having the opportunity to work with children. I am currently attending CCRI completing my General Studies to obtain my Associates Degree in Arts. In my free time, I enjoy crafting and DIY projects.

MISS AMANDA

Assistant/Floater
Hello! My name is Amanda and I have been working at Johnston Child Care since 2019. I am a teachers assistant and the school floater. I assist and help out in each classroom as needed, providing support for all the teachers and children! I am currently attending Rhode Island College for my Bachelor's Degree of Science in Nursing as an honors program student. I am CPR and First Aid Certified. I love getting the opportunity to learn about Early Childhood Education from my fellow staff, as well as help the children grow and develop. A fun fact about myself is I love to be creative and help create the school's monthly bulletin boards!

Hi, my name is miss Selena! I have been working In Child Care for almost three years. Ive always loved working with children. In my free time, I babysit and enjoy drawing, playing video games, singing, hanging out with friends and family and playing sports.
 

MISS ELLIE

Infant Teacher
Hi, my name is Miss Ellie. I am CPR and First Aid Certified. I have been working at Johnston Child Care for 22 years as the head Infant Teacher. I started in August 1999. I have seen many babies start here and go through the center onto kindergarten. I love watching each child grow and accomplish many things. Fun facts about myself is that I love the outdoors and animals.

MISS KAT

5 Year Old Teacher
Hi! My name is Miss Kat. I have had the pleasure of teaching our three year old class for over 2 years now, and have now transitioned to our 5 year old classroom. I enjoy working with children this age because their personalities are really starting to shine. I have always had a passion for art and I hope that through crafts and beautifully illustrated books, students will learn to appreciate creativity and feel inspired to express themselves through the arts as well.

4 Year Old Teacher
Hi! My name is Miss Jennie and I am the 4 year old teacher here at Johnston Child Care. I am currently attending Rhode Island College to obtain my Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education. I have 5 years of experience working with children. A fun fact about myself is that I am an athlete and I play lacrosse at Rhode Island College.

MISS BRIANNA

Teacher's Assistant 
Hi, my name is Brianna Marino! I have been working at Johnston Child Care Center since 2023. I have always enjoyed working with children and JCC is a great opportunity to do so. I currently am a licensed Real Estate Agent and have my Associates degree in Arts. Someday I would love to further my education and get a bachelors degree in childhood development. A fun fact about myself is that I have a bunny named Luna and a Tortoise named Floyd!
